Our trip to the Museum of Natural History

Last Wednesday my class visited the Museum of Natural History. We were split up into group to research about the museum. As we entered the museum there were a lot of different interesting exhibits. The first place we visited was the Gottesman Hall of Planet Earth. There were many exhibits that I found very interesting in that room. One of the interesting exhibits that I liked was the ice sample. The ice sample can go back may years and determine the how much snow fall on a specific year and how cold it was by the bubbles in the ice. We as a group also viewed the cloud diagram. There was also a video on the effect of global warming. Which discusses the effect of carbon dioxide on earth. It also discusses the increase of carbon dioxide on earth.
The museum and the movie “Inconvenient Truth” are have a lot of similarities. By watching the movie first I had a basic idea about the world and global warming. In the movie Al Gore also discuses about the ice sample. He also added that you can also determine how much carbon dioxide was in the year by looking at the ice sample. The movie also explain that as the years passes there are more carbon dioxide in the atmosphere. This is what casing the earth to be warmer. By the earth getting warmer there are major amount of ice that is melting. As a result we will have limited supply of fresh water to drink. The museum has a diagram that shows how the sun ray is being trapped on earth. The movie also discusses the about sun ray trapped on earth. Al Gore discusses that the sun ray hits the earth. As it goes back to the atmosphere it is trapped by the thick clouds. This is how the earth is getting warmer.
