The New York Public Library for the Performing Arts

Yesterday Usman, Tshering, and I visited The New York Public Library for the Performing Arts. The library is located on 66th street Lincoln center. The library consist of three different floors. On the first floor there are computers that you can use to serf the web. There are also many librarians that are on the first floor to answer questions. On the second floor we found many interesting videos. All the video and DVD are based on musicals and theaters. They also had many books that are about theater and dancing. They also had many painting on the walls. On the third floor there was a stations of TV. On the T.V. you can view the different dance performances. You can see the evolving the dance from before and now. There were also nice drawings and pictures on the third floor.
The New York Public Library was a nice place to visit. It was a fun experience for me to see all the different paintings and drawings.

Going Green

There are many things that our family is doing to go Green. My mom changed all regular lights in the house. Instead of having regular yellow bulbs we now have white florescent lights. The florescent light uses up less electricity. At first I did not like the lights because the lights are not as bright as the regular light bulbs. But as time passed I got used to the lights. My father also likes the bulbs because he is paying a little less on the electricity bill.
We as a family cut down on driving the car. We feel that all less car on the road can cause less pollution. Now we walk a little more. This has benefited the family. My father has lost seven pounds in the last two months. Since the gas price went high we also save in the pumps. Event though it is a low to recycle now, we always recycled. My mom always had two different cans in the house, one for garbage and one for plastic.

VIsit to the New York Public Library

There are many things that I learned in the New York Public Library. This was the fist time that I visited this New York Public Library. The Library had five different floors. Different floors had different types of books and genres. As I explored the Library I found a lot of different and interesting books. There were many books about religions and different cultures. I also found books about my country. The library also had varieties of videos and DVD. After visiting the library we went to a different library. This Library held all the books that have ever been published. This library was also big. You can see thousands of books that were in the selves ready to be read. I found it interesting to walk around the building and watch the different art works in the wall. They also have books that are on display that can’t be taking out such as the Bible. Also in the library, they had classic baseball and basketball cards. I also learned that there is a special library card that you need to have to read the books.

NBA

The 2008 playoff just began to get exciting. The Horets lead by Chris Paul defeat the Mavericks on the first round. As the result of the defeat the Mavericks fired there couch Avery Johnson. This is the second time straight that the Mavericks has been defeated in the first round of the playoffs. The Spurs played the Sun on the first round of the playoffs. Lead by Tim Duncan the spurs defeated the suns in six games. The Lakers lead by Kobe Bryent defeated the Nuggets in 4 games straight. As we know Kobe Bryent Wanted to leave the Lakers earlyer this season because he felt the team wasent going any were. After reconstructing the team they finished the season first place in the west. The Jazz deafeated the Rockets in the first round. McGrady have yet to advance to the second round of the playoff in his career. I do not want to talk about any team in the east because i think there is only hope for 2 teams the Celtics and the Pistons. I believe that if some of the west teams played in the east they would have an oppertunity to go to the playoffs.
